Cy's get out on their own in Bantry bay

After only 7 days in the dinghies all trainees have achieved well beyond the expected level and so today we let them loose in the keel boats on their own out into bantry bay. Its incredible to think that these guys knew nothing about sailing 10 days ago. check out the photos and video clips I made to see how well their doing. A great credit to them.

Clipper Round the World

Hugh McCarthy is on board Cork as she leads the way across the Atlantic to Kinsale. Keep it up Hugh and crew - we look forward to welcoming you home - first! This picture is of Hugh in a more relaxed sailing experience in the Caribbean this winter. I think any pictures of him sailing right now will be VERY different. The exposure, ocean swell and constant drive to make the boat perform must be such an exhilerating adventure. We are all looking forward to hearing the highs and lows of the trip.

Sailing for all this week

While the trainees are enjoying sunshine and light breezes in Bantry Bay, back here in Adrigole Harbour Rory went out for little jaunt of his own yesterday, with Oisin trying to keep up with him in a kayak.
Reports back from Jessy are that the blind navigation exercises are going well.
